What a Week

Man what a week it has been since I got back from my cruise to the Bahamas. First of all let me tell you, I am not one who likes to sit around and do a whole lot of nothing but that vacation was much needed. 5 days was just the right amount of time to be on a cruise. First stop was Nassau the capital of the Bahamas and man what a blast our shore excursion was. We opted for the clear kayak and snorkle excursion, definitely worth it. The second stop was Freeport a much smaller town but definitely less crowded. We took a historical German windjammer ship around Freeport; such an awesome tour. Rest of the trip was spent relaxing on the ship and getting some sun.

Tuesday was straight back to work although I was excited to play trivia with all my friends who I missed. Although I was beyond exhausted, the night was a blast and I'm excited to continue playing. Thursday was a blast going to the NYCSSC sponsored "High School Kickball Dance Party" at Libation, the usual post kickball bar. I didn't know what to expect espeically on a Thursday night. Once people came in and my friends showed up, I had a BLAST! Meet a bunch of new friends and kickballers who I will continue to see once the kickball season starts again two weeks Thursday.

Dear Monday

Dear vacation/cruise, you were much needed and I can't believe it's over already.

Dear family, it was so great to spend time with you all. See you in August/September respectively.

Dear work, I actually missed you for a bit. Catch up time tomorrow.

Dear friends, I missed you all; see you at trivia.

Dear trivia, can't wait to play tomorrow since I missed the first week.

Dear June,  can't believe you're already half way over. Slow down.

It's My Party

Over the weekend, my friend Christie and I celebrated our 24th birthdays together. On my actual birthday last Wednesday I went to happy hour at Latitude with friends who couldn't make it on Saturday at Central Bar. Free (strong) drinks, good food and laughter was shared by all despite the overcrowded bar due to happy hour. After a good night even though the Kings gave up their first win to the Devils, I was excited for Saturday's festivities. Saturday night was a blast at Central Bar. Met up with Ann Marie and Kevin beforehand so I wouldn't head over to the bar alone. Although the bar was super packed downstairs, luckily our table reservations were upstairs. Even though the Kings/Devils and Heat/Celtics games were on, upstairs started to get packed as we made our way around to the bar and saying hi to everyone who came. Friends from kickball, from the Big Deck House of Fun crew and friends of Christie's all showed up to celebrate with us. Thanks to everyone who came and stayed out to enjoy a joyous occasion.

This birthday was definitely better than last year when I spent the day driving to Schenectady (outside of Albany, NY) and hanging out in the hotel room with room service in the massive thunderstorms that occurred. Dancing the night away at Central Bar was what I needed after what seemed like a very long first full week of June. Staying in on Friday night definitely helped as well. Now that the birthday festivities are over, it's time for my first cruise with the family to the Bahamas!

Dear Monday

Dear birthday, you're in two days! I can't wait to celebrate with all my friends this weekend at my joint celebration with Christie. It's going to be a blast.

Dear vacation, 9 days! Here's to a much needed vacation. I'm ready to see my family, sun, getting a tan, kayaking and all the other fun things on a cruise. I can't wait to go on my first cruise ever, to see a new state (South Carolina) and a new country (Bahamas!).

Dear Astoria Bohemian Beer Garden, you will be my new favorite place this summer. Good friends, good music, good beer and good times, what more could you ask for. Thank you to everyone who came by this weekend to celebrate my new neighborhood and apartment. There will be many more times to come, give me a call anytime if you want to go.

Dear new roommate, I promise we will hang out together soon. Once your schedule clears up and I'm back from vacation we will have a much needed dinner party/belated birthday celebrations for us.

Dear work training, even though I organized you and know everything is set, please go smoothly so I can enjoy my days.

Dear Mets,  I am SO excited I was there to see Mets history of the first ever no-hits game by Santana. Congratulations Mets!
